January 2020

Alumni registration information emailed to all Spectrum alumni this month. If your email has changed since the program last summer, please notify Trinette Atri via email to update the information in our system or you will not receive the registration email. If you moved or transferred out of the CMS system since last year’s program, you will no longer be eligible to attend Spectrum of the Arts as an alumni. Nomination information delivered to Elementary TD Teachers and Middle School Academic Facilitators at their department meetings in December and January, respectively. The information is then distributed at the school level to nominating teachers (dance, art, drama, music, homeroom, English Language Arts, etc.). Students who have “aged out” and previously attended Spectrum may apply to be interns. Please complete the Intern Application by mid-January 2020 if you are interested in becoming an intern for the 2020 Spectrum of the Arts program.

 

February 2020

All teacher nomination forms are due by February 2020 (exact date TBD) by close of business (5:00 p.m.). Nominations received earlier will be placed higher on the wait list after the lottery selections. Alumni registration forms and payments must be completed online by February 2020 (exact date TBD) by close of business (5:00 p.m.).  Interns will be informed of their selection and sent information regarding registration. Students selected via Lottery will be informed via email of their selection or Wait List placement the week of February 2020 (exact week TBD).

 

March 2020

All Lottery registration forms and payments must be completed online by March 2020 (exact date TBD) by close of business (5:00 p.m.) for guaranteed spots in Spectrum. Students selected via Wait List will be informed via phone call of their offered seat.

 

April 2020

All Wait List registration forms and payments must be completed online by April 2020 (exact date TBD) by close of business (5:00 p.m.) for guaranteed spots in Spectrum. If there are any remaining seats after this deadline, a second round of Wait List seats will be offered via phone call.

 

May 2020

Wait List Second Round registration forms and payments must be completed online by May 2020 (exact date TBD) by close of business (5:00 p.m.) for guaranteed spots in Spectrum. An email will be sent to all those remaining on the Wait List who did not receive a spot to indicate that the program is now full. All confirmed Spectrum of the Arts students should complete Transportation Permission Forms online by June 2020 (exact date TBD) by close of business (5:00 p.m.).

 

June 15, 2020

Spectrum of the Arts begins! There will be a brief 30 minute Parent Information Meeting beginning at 8:30 a.m. on this morning. Please plan to attend.

Program Cancellation 2020

Dear Spectrum Parents & Guardians,  

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the postponement of the Spectrum of the Arts 2020 program due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  This decision was made after much consideration for the health and safety of our staff, students, and the community at large.  We want our students to have the full “Spectrum experience” of integrating the arts and realized we could not do that given the current circumstances. 

We realize this is a disappointment to everyone involved, but please know that we plan to continue with the program next summer.  Students who are already registered and paid for the 2020 program will receive full refunds. The same students will be automatically invited back to attend the program in the summer of 2021 without having to go through the lottery process or losing alumni status.  This also applies to students who would have “aged out” of the program this year; they will also be invited back to attend in the summer of 2021.  More information will be sent in January 2021, so please make sure you have a current email on file with us

While we held out hope that the program would go on this summer, we wanted to make sure we could bring you the highest quality program many of you have come to expect and, sadly, the reality is that we can’t right now.  However, we will keep DREAMing and look forward to seeing you in June 2021. The tentative dates for the 2021 program will be June 7 - June 17, 2021 -  mark your calendars! We will DREAM together then!
